Bishop David Oyedepo has said private university are not too expensive if their facilities and quality of education they offer is considered.
Oyedepo said this while addressing journalists at a press conference to mark the second convocation ceremony of the Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State.
According
to him, the seemingly high tuition fees charged by private universities
are justified because financing private institutions is an expensive
endeavor.
"Private universities are not costly,
judging by the standard, availability of equipment, learning condition,
competitive remuneration of teaching staff, among other provisions that
make an environment conducive. Rather, people should commend private
university owners, in the face of several challenges they face in the
country," he said.
Oyedepo, who is the Chancellor of the university, called for improved funding of education in Nigeria.
